Most of them do one thing: they generate captions, or they generate images, or they resize what you already have. A handful do two. Almost none do all of the things a real content workflow requires, and the one thing virtually none of them do well is stay on-brand across a full batch of posts.

The result is a lot of small business owners who have paid for three or four tools and still spend hours a week touching up outputs that look nothing like their brand.

This post is a buyer's guide framed around eight specific requirements. Run any AI tool you're evaluating against this list. If it fails more than two of the eight, it's going to create work rather than remove it. 1. Generate captions in your brand voice, not a generic one

Almost every AI caption tool can produce something grammatically correct and vaguely promotional. What almost none of them do is stay in a specific voice across dozens of posts without being told the rules of that voice every single time.

A tool worth using needs to accept a standing voice profile: your tone, your vocabulary, the words you avoid, the sentence structure you default to. It should carry that profile across every caption it writes without you re-entering it for each post. 2. Generate on-brand images, not stock-photo defaults

When you give a generic AI image generator a vague prompt like "coffee shop Instagram post," it returns the averaged result of every coffee-shop Instagram tile it was trained on: warm amber light, white ceramic cup, brown wooden table, heart latte art. That image is indistinguishable from any other cafe's feed from the last five years.

3. Accept brand uploads: logo, product reference, founder portrait

6. Maintain consistency across the batch
